Hi there! I’m Joel. I design original indie video games for fun and creative challenge!

Pure and simple love of game design. That's really it. That's honestly why I do this stuff. Game design is adventure! An infinite playground of imagination where I can slow down, get curious about things, and enjoy crafting small games that I find charming and personally meaningful to create.

Dog Theory is more than just a cool name and a pixel dog! It’s a creative philosophy. A lens that extends beyond game design to how I see and experience everything. It’s a reflection of my truest and best self.

The game plan for Joel and Dog Theory is to keep building new and better video games for as long as I’m inspired to create and having fun at it! Ultimately, the goal is just to do it right. To one day look back on a true, authentic game design journey and know that I made the games I was inspired to make. That's really what I want out of all this! The freedom to continue creating things I think are awesome, and have fun doing it.
